Jute twine is made from jute which is a long, supple, glossy vegetable fibre that can be spun into rough, strong threads. Jute is formed from plants in the genus Corchorus, in the family Malvaceae. It is one of the most inexpensive natural fibres and is inferior only to cotton in the amount produced and variety of uses. It grows best in a warm and wet climate.
